Lagos State University Scraps External/Part Time Studies

The Lagos State University has finally wind down part time programmes of its external campuses across the state.

The programme has been facing a lot problem ranging from NUC accreditation, credibility, acceptability of graduates at job market, funding, Infrastructure deficit and corruption amongst others.



So many of the University’s graduates have not been able to obtain their degree certificates for several years after rounding up their academic studies.

Some of them have written petitions to the state government through the press, yet the ugly problem persist, some after graduation without certificate were forced to start afresh in other degree awarding institutions like Open University, University of Lagos DLI and others within and outside the state.

Many of the students in this category are working class who wants to update their skills and certificates while few others were those who could not get admission through JAMB.

As at the time of this report, what prompted the university to scrap the external programmes is still unknown, however what remains uncertain is the fate that awaits those who have completed their degrees without issuance of certificate by the university.

LASU EXTERNAL SYSTEM WINDS-DOWN FRIDAY, 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2017

This is to inform the General Public and particularly students of the Lagos State University External System (LASUES) that academic and administrative activities of LASU External Campuses will cease to function by Friday 29th September, 2017.

The University is therefore calling on all PART TIME students of the INTERNAL and EXTERNAL Campuses who have any outstanding or unresolved complaints to visit the office of the Director, Lagos State University External System (LASUES), Ojo, or lodge their complaints before Friday 29th September, 2017 at the dedicated website http://externalstudentscomplaintsportal.lasu.edu.ng.

Please note that this is the final deadline and no extension or excuses will be entertained.
